Dimitrios Ordoulidis : structures of Formalismos
In Formalismos abstract figures of structures are used to inspire pureness and simplicity. Elements of a formal analysis include descriptions of color, space, line, volume, mass, composition, and other perceptual aspects, putting these together to highlight artistic style. To ignite moderate formalism, patterns of ontological, metaphysical or essential nature are also used to balance the intensity of the abstract figures.
Dimitrios Ordoulidis motto is ‘Beyond love, design and fashion, there is art’. During his four-month practice in the atelier of Yorgos Eleftheriades, the famous Greek designer, Dimitrios learned that talent is simply a ‘shade of the whole’, but the hard work is the ‘light effect’. As a source of inspiration he evokes his feelings: ‘I dream of a beautiful image that is composed of people, whom I imagine to have dressed with garments. My clothes are my dreams’.
Dimitrios Ordoulidis won the 1st award in the competition ‘New Designers Awards’ at 17th Athens Exclusive Designers Week.
