Ergon Mykonos Alexander on Meander Beach Towel is a graphic imprint of the legendary Alexander The Great, the Greek King of Macedonia. The name Alexander is derived from the Greek Αλέξανδρος, Aléxandros, a compound of the Greek verb /αλέξειν (aléxein): to defend, to avert and the noun /ανήρ (anir): man. Meaning he who ‘Defends the men’ and ‘Protector of the people’. Along with his teacher Greek philosopher Aristotle, he is one of the most influential personalities of all times. Alexander was born in the Macedonian city of Pella in Greece and by the age of thirty, he created one of the largest empires of the ancient world stretching from Greece to northwestern India – transmitting Greek culture and language, leading to a new Hellenistic era. Hellenistic motifs inspired Ergon Mykonos, for ‘The Hellenes’ collection including unique items with a story to tell.
