Ergon Mykonos Flavia Jacket is part of SS20 colection inspired by Byzantium or Byzantion, an ancient Greek colony in early antiquity with its later capital Constantinople that is today’s Istanbul. The origins of Byzantium are shrouded in legend but this combination of imperialism and location would affect Constantinople’s role as the nexus between the continents of Europe and Asia. The textiles and designs of Ergon Mykonos SS20 emerge to revive the emblems, patterns and symbols of that era reviving a connection between the two worlds: East and West and with a strong reference to the religious symbols of that time that echo through today.
Majestic, Emblematic, Symbolic and strongly artistic the new collection depicts another significant historical era along with its contemporary notion of today’s pop culture. A culture that fast forwards to the future. An empowering collection for the woman of today with statement pieces and designs full of the colours and marks of a long lost Empire.
