Ergon Mykonos Theophano dress is part of SS20 colection inspired by Byzantium or Byzantion, an ancient Greek colony in early antiquity with its later capital Constantinople that is today’s Istanbul. The origins of Byzantium are shrouded in legend but this combination of imperialism and location would affect Constantinople’s role as the nexus between the continents of Europe and Asia. The textiles and designs of Ergon Mykonos SS20 emerge to revive the emblems, patterns and symbols of that era reviving a connection between the two worlds: East and West and with a strong reference to the religious symbols of that time that echo through today.
Majestic, Emblematic, Symbolic and strongly artistic the new collection depicts another significant historical era along with its contemporary notion of today’s pop culture. A culture that fast forwards to the future. An empowering collection for the woman of today with statement pieces and designs full of the colours and marks of a long lost Empire.
Every Ergon Mykonos single design or item invites you to travel in time and the culture of Greece and stands as a piece of art on its own. What makes the brand unique is the use of exclusive, handmade textiles, that follow the Greek technique of the loom which has survived through the centuries. Respecting our planet and responding to the shifting needs of fashion the brand has adopted a made-to-order production cycle and we produce on demand your orders. Please allow up to 3-5 working days for garments to be created.
The story behind each collection by Ergon Mykonos comes from the images and tales of Greek mythology, elements & materials of Greece’s rich past and is customised to the contemporary, minimal aesthetic and artistic glance of the brand’s designer Marietta Karpathiou.
