Alexquisite stands for superior quality, handmade leather goods and intelligent design that is tailor-made to the needs and tastes of a contemporary, mobile aesthete. The core principle of Alexquisite’s design ethos is soft design — a design language that blends together practicality and function with intuitive beauty and a playful involvement of all the senses.
Each piece is carefully handcrafted from genuine leather in family owned workshops in Greece. Talented artisans with decades of experience in leather goods have been investing their time and passion into transforming these precious materials into charming pieces. The country still holds a very strong network of craftsmen, with which Alexandros works closely together exchanging ideas and infusing a new way of thinking. Growing up in Kastoria, one of the most important fur industries in the world, in a family of furriers, he is inspired by the immaculate use of the material and he includes this luxurious natural fabric in this first collection.
The brand supports and participates in the International Campaign Fur Now by the International Fur Federation IFF. Animal welfare and sustainability are top priority for the IFF and all members of the international fur industry, following the international and European legislations.
Alexquisite is the creative brand and brainchild of Greek designer Alexandros Kotoulas. After an intensive study period at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he obtained his masters degree in Engineering, Alexandros decided to shift into a more creative environment. Soon after his graduation he was accepted at the prestigious Design Academy Eindhoven, where he has slowly discovered his passion for design, soft materials and leather.
His training continued at the leather goods department of Maison Louis Vuitton in Paris, where for nearly a year Alexandros worked on developing accessories for the brand’s women’s line, both for the seasonal and the permanent collections. His stage at Louis Vuitton also gave him the opportunity to be involved with other special projects at the House.
