Concept & Inspiration
Our interpretation captures the serene beauty and classical elegance of the original statue, bringing it to life in a contemporary decorative form.
___________
Venus, the ancient Greek goddess of love, was the undisputed model of female beauty. The head of the Venus statuette was inspired by the 150 BC masterpiece Aphrodite of Milos (Venus de Milo).
The Aphrodite of Milos, also known as the Venus de Milo, is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Initially, it was attributed to the sculptor Praxiteles, based on an inscription on its plinth; the statue is thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch. Created sometime between 130 and 100 BC, the statue is believed to depict Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. It is a marble sculpture, slightly larger than life size at 203 cm (6 ft 8 in) high. Part of an arm and the original plinth were lost following its discovery. It is currently on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. This Greek goddess sculpture is named after the Greek island of Milos, where it was discovered.
This one of the timeless Greek statues is part of a truly original home collection where the precious classical heritage takes the shape of unique handmade objects. Art is combined with design, eternity with modernity, and the magic of timeless myths with the spirit of the 21st century.
