The Artians : daedalus Op Art
The Op Athens collection draws inspiration from a treasure chest of aesthetic references. Op art which relies on optical illusions, relating geometric designs that create feelings of movement was the major influence in creating the Op Athens collection AW2016 . Optical, being a word of Greek origin triggered the Artians to look deeper and decode the Op art forms into Greek archaic architectural structures and patterns. The result was the encountering of Op art with Greek archaic forms. The influence of the 70s along with its array of colors is obvious. Easy to wear signature print luxury shirts and dresses, luxurious pants, avant-garde jackets and total print elastic pieces complete the puzzle, making up a new futuristic dress code.
Motivated by their strong belief that art can be perfectly bonded with fashion, Sofia Vayena, painter and Konstantina Kampisopoulou, fashion designer, created the Artians in 2013. Different projects and inspiration reflecting great cultures and artistic influences of all kinds of art are embodied in each collection creating a unique identity with exclusively designed prints. The Artians collections have been presented at several major fashion exhibitions with great success. All materials used are basically made in Greece conforming to ethically correct procedures.
