Lommer : Molecular elements
Every user creates a new ‘molecular’ experience by interacting with the design process. Circa 450 BC Empedocles imagined fundamental elements – fire , earth
, air
and water
– and forces of attraction and repulsion allowing the elements to interact. Users get initiated to a unique experience by assembling a Lommer bag and choosing different elements to interact and shape different style combinations, based on their requirements.
Lommer‘s design philosophy is based on experimenting with different materials, without being prisoned by the original state, and the designers’ willing to satisfy daily life requirements due to ergonomic and adaptable products of Evafamily; a collection of several bags made of Eva foam, combined with seatbelts, lifting straps and yachting ropes. What characterizes the Evafamily collection is that the bags are not being produced by sewing, but by assembling with snaps.
EvaTwo tote bag, which recently won Silver A’ design award, is being received rolled. The user unrolls it, assembles it and applies the strap he wants, by choosing color and length. In this way, he takes part into the design process of his bag and puts his personal element.
EvaClutch consists of two different parts, the lid and the case, in order to give the possibility to the user to choose the color or the design combination he wants and have many several clutches easily with two moves.
EvaPack is an urban backpack which takes advantage of the properties of the rope we have chosen to become unbreakable. With its own weight the entrance of the bag is kept closed to any unwanted.
Danai Gavrili (Product Designer, AKTO college / Master in Design, Domus Academy Milan) and Alkioni Matsourdeli (Product Designer, AKTO college / Interior Design, Technical School of Athens) founded Lommer in February 2014.
