It became the subject of a very rich iconography, especially throughout ancient Greek pottery and paintings and sculptures of the Renaissance.

Her story is a personification of some of the most universal concepts about the circle of life. As the Goddess of Springtime and Rebirth, she is eternally connected to the cycles of the earth, which lies barren in her absence to the underworld with Ades and bloom again each spring with her return on earth’s surface.

Cyclades Silk Square Scarf Medusa is inspired by the Medusa who according to Mythology she had snakes instead of hair. She was originally a golden-haired, fair maiden, who, as a priestess of Athena, was devoted to a life of celibacy; however, after being wooed by Poseidon and falling for him, she forgot her vows and married him. For this offence, the enraged Goddess Athena transformed Medusa’s beautiful hair to serpents and made her face so terrible to behold that the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone.

Leto Lama is a third generation artist and designer who is based in London. Born in Greece, Leto grew up immersed in the art of her family; she started studying at the age of 5 under the supervision of artists Gianna Persaki and Eva Persaki. She now exhibits her works internationally, her paintings can be found in private collections in Europe and Asia. The passion she has for fashion, design and art acted as a foundation to launch the Cyclades brand.
