CUTCUUTUR : polygonal morphs
Employing primary geometry as a springboard, the CUTCUUTUR SS2016 features oversized shapes that cover the garment surface with smaller-scale shapes acting as intricate outlines and details, building up the basis for elaborately patterned clothing. Overlapping, meticulously interwoven and interconnected with almost ritualistic fervor, these methodical designs become a statement of the complexity that can be achieved by the simplest of lines, an intrinsic part of the CUTCUUTUR philosophy.
CUTCUUTUR is a mixture between extravagant designs and simple garment lines, creating a unique style, perfectly described as an upgraded casual fashion brand. Therefore, diverse outfits can be created, formulating either a street style or a more formal one depending on the occasion, while maintaining the clean and at the same time radical stylistic identity of CUTCUUTUR.
CUTCUUTUR was created in Greece by a team of architects and designers that first began as a side project, which quickly spread like wildfire, becoming a successful, specialized fashion brand. The main focus is to follow a unique design process, combining innovative, experimental architectural and fashion design paradigms. Each garment is digitally fabricated in Greece using CNC laser cutting machines, to produce highly detailed prints and patterns.
Kimonas Patsios and Fotis Smouklis both studied Architecture in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and through their collaboration on several projects they discovered their common ethos about design. After graduating they established their pathway in fashion design, being today the creative directors of CUTCUUTUR laser cut apparel brand. At the same time Kimonas works as an architect at his family office and Fotis deals with architectural competitions and exhibitions.
